From the experts behind Energy Voice: thought leadership and global authority.
Our Position on Sustainable Growth
In recent years, the concept of sustainable growth has come to the forefront of the conversation around how to improve financial markets and the wider economy, to help the world deal with the environmental and societal challenges it faces.
The energy industry and Energy Voice team have been at the forefront of this conversation. The sector must transform, it cannot continue to achieve growth in the ways of the last 50 years.
Where energy is moving, all sectors will follow. Now is the right time for us to launch a brand that will take us beyond energy to look at who is matching progress with their stated purpose and explain why it matters for people and planet.
The Evolution of Acronyms
SDG: In 2015 The UN launched its Sustainable Development Goals, designed to be a ‘blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all’, setting targets across 17 key facets of sustainability, with a deadline of 2030.
ESG: Environmental, social and governance factors used to assess risk in the finance sector. ESG assets are estimated to be on track to exceed $53 trillion by 2025 (over more than a third of the projected total assets under management).
It promises change at a significant scale. But, at the same time, ESG has come under fire for being poorly defined and understood, ineffectual, and rife with greenwashing and misreporting.
SG Voice Mission
To accelerate sustainable growth with the influence and rigour of our journalistic lens. Shining a light on innovation and transformation that enables the changes we need.
Being a voice for the change – sharing stories and building a community of those committed to sustainable growth.
SG Voice is for anyone in business who genuinely wants to change the world. We will spotlight who is matching purpose with progress, put value against why it matters – and inspire change.
The Truth About Growth
Growth is driven by movement and momentum. In the business world we are moving so fast, often too focused on the short term, the changes we need to make for the long term can feel too big to tackle.
Our starting point is to encourage business to move beyond ESG to achieve material sustainable growth, by calling out the bad and celebrating the good. At the same time we will help business leaders understand the complexities of the market and position their companies for change.
We want to contribute to creating a world in which businesses put purpose at the heart of their strategy and deliver tangible progress for all their stakeholders and where the regulatory and financial frameworks support that aim.
SG Voice, Sustainable growth where purpose meets progress.
